Advanced Sound Recorder - Record and edit any sound on your computer
When you hear a good tune on YouTube, it is inefficient to download the whole video if you are interested only in the sound track. This is not the only situation in which a sound recorder will come in handy. Whatever it may be, you will find Advanced Sound Recorder to be a good solution. It is a multipurpose recorder which you can use to capture any audio coming in or out of your computer.
The installation package can be downloaded quickly. It is 2.42 Mb large and it features a simple wizard which you can go through swiftly. Besides the software itself, there is nothing else you will be prompted to install.
Advanced Sound Recorder features a small, compact interface where you can find all the functions you will need. You can start recording right away by clicking the Record button. The program will automatically detect what recording formats your sound card can support and will adjust itself accordingly. The default recording device can be selected from the tabbed options panel. Any audio related device, such as speakers or a microphone will be detected from the moment you plug them into your computer.
Advanced Sound Recorder does not capture sound coming only from a microphone. You can also use it to record sound from Internet streaming, games, media players, such as Winamp or Windows Media Player, and more. Basically, anything making a sound on your computer can be recorded. If you have made more than one recording, you can play-back any one of them by accessing a history list. Clicking its designated button will add a playlist to the interface where you can play any recording you have made just like in a simple media player.
Another interesting feature is a sound editor which can be accessed directly by clicking a button from the same row as the Record one. You can cut, copy or paste any fragment of a sound track, add fade effects and more. The result can be saved using formats such as MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG or VQF.
Pros:
The software allows you to record any sound on your computer. Once you're done, you can immediately launch a sound editor where you can edit the recording.
Cons:
The interface's buttons and labels look a bit out of place while running the program on anything above Windows XP. But even if you're running it on Windows Vista or 7, the program is still usable.
Any audio signal coming in or out of a computer can be recorded with Advanced Sound Recorder. Its user friendly interface lets you start recording and editing right away.
